Jurors agreed, returning a verdict in the family’s favor.

According to trial reporting, Mays was shot in the CHOP zone on June 29, 2023. No suspects have been identified or arrested. The suit claimed the zone’s security and access policies created dangerous conditions and slowed first‑responder access.
