Featured Member - Chad Hemmat

Chad Hemmat is a co-founding principal partner of Anderson Hemmat and directs all civil litigation operations at the firm. He has been personally involved in some of the most significant personal injury and wrongful death cases brought in Colorado over the past two decades.

Hemmat began his legal career with a Hawaiian firm during the appellate litigation of what was then the largest individual jury verdict ever received against General Motors. He returned to Colorado and spent nine years litigating hundreds of car accident, trucking, and premises liability cases before co-founding Anderson Hemmat.

His trial record includes landmark results across a wide range of case types. He brought the wrongful death claim for the family of a former middleweight boxing champion killed by bus driver negligence. He secured what is believed to be the first successful trial verdict in Colorado on behalf of a premature infant born after a forced delivery caused by a collision a case that changed Colorado wrongful death law and was covered statewide by television, radio, and print. He also brought the only wrongful death lawsuits arising from the Guffy Family Murders in 2001 and has litigated class actions against Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Pfizer.

His practice covers car accidents, commercial trucking, premises liability, medical negligence, product liability, wrongful death, and insurance bad faith. Hemmat received his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
